I was very surprised that no one commented on yesterday's blog. No one posted it on their face book. Why? Did you just think it was to wrong to bother with? I give up.
The author of 50 shades was interviewed on the Katie Coric show today. The audience of mostly young women were all beaming and happy that someone wrote such a great book. Even Katie seemed to be amused by the whole thing. The author's British accent was too thick for me and I had a difficult time understanding most of what she said, but it was obvious that she felt very amused about all her little sexy episodes in the book. All the women , including Katie said "who wouldn't want a guy like Christian Gray?"
My question is, who would want a man who degraded women, was one sick puppy and needed help to overcome all his wierd , brutal habits.
There have been over 100 products on the market dealing with 50 shades. There is a movie being considered (they surely aren't just going to have 50 shades of sex are they?) Also a musical is being considered.
Is there something wrong with me. I can see no good qualities at all in this garbage, trash, pure junk.
Because I received no responses and because only two or three people even read my blog, I am thinking of quitting it and just writing in my Journal. Sorry, but this just seems like a waste of time. It is like talking to everyone and no one answers me It gets as boring as 50 Shades.
Bye for now,
Be Kind to One Another

Oh, I hope you don't stop blogging. I, for one, think you write well and your topics are always interesting. I enjoy your blog entries.
ReplyDeleteI didn't comment because I haven't read 50 Shades of Gray, and it's hard for me to say. I like to think I read like a writer, that is, I read critically. Sometimes I won't like the subject matter, but I might think the character is well-developed, or the dialogue is good, or some other aspect of the writing, such as point of view, transitions, etc. is worthwhile.
I have a Kindle. I'm such a cheapskate I don't like to pay for books. So I get the free Kindle books from Amazon. They are delivered to my ebook in just one click, like magic!
The problem is, though, is that many of the free books are poorly written. Just as I learn a valuable lesson from a well-written book, the badly written ones offer a plus, too - they are a lesson in what NOT to do.
I have no plans to read Fifty Shades of Gray. It doesn't sound as if it has any redeeming qualities. I'm sorry you wasted your time and money on a book that was so unpleasant to read.
But, please, don't stop your blog. You are a good writer with lots of good things to say! ♥
